Most of us at Candyland use a program called GMud to connect to the talker. We choose GMud over traditional telnet programs because it offers features such as ease of logging in, color, and macros.

PLEASE NOTE: Candyland is NOT a MUD! There are no monsters to fight or anything like that. We only offer GMud as a download because it is useful for our users. If you want to download it to use it for your own MUD places, feel free...but please realize Candyland is NOT a MUD.

To make it as easy as possible for prospective users to check us out, we are offering a copy of GMud. This version of the program is already preset to connect to Candyland, so you don't need to worry about putting the settings in.

In order to check us out immediately, follow these steps:

The below steps are for downloading and extracting from the zip file; for that you need Winzip or some other program that can extract files from zip compressed files. If you DO NOT wish to download Winzip, here is a self extracting exe file that you can use to set up Gmud.


  • First, Download GMud
  • When File Download window appears, click ok
  • Save the file to your Desktop
  • When the download is complete, double-click the GMud.zip icon
  • Follow the steps to unzip the files
  • When the files are unzipped, click on the GMud icon
  • Click on the File menu, then click on Connect
  • Click on Candyland, then click the Connect button
  • Choose a username and password and sign in

    If you do not have WinZip on your computer, you will need to download it in order to unzip the file once it's downloaded.
